The Gaddesby Gallopers

The Gaddesby Gallopers are a band of local runners based in the village, who run to improve their fitness.  We organise the annual Gaddesby Half Marathon and 10km in May and the Gaddesby Gallop 5.25 mile cross country run in December. Over the last seven years this has raised close on  £55,000 for Rainbows, LOROS and three local charities.

Our latest event was the Gaddesby Gallop 5.25 mile cross country race on Saturday 23rd December 2006.  Follow this link for details.

The Gallopers enter local events both individually and as a team.   Together we have run marathons in Scotland, Wales, England and Ireland.  We are always up for a challenge.

From April to September we hold an evening run on Wednesdays.  We meet at the Cheney Arms in the Gaddesby at 7:00pm with the runs starting at 7:15.  The village is surrounded by roads and footpaths and a decision on the route to be taken is made on the day. We attempt to cater for all abilities.  If you would like to run with us phone Simon on 01664 840263 or Jeff on 01664 840670.

The Gallopers are an informal group not affiliated to UK Athletics.  Timekeeping for our races is organised by our friendly local running club the Wreake Runners.  Wreake Runners are based in Syston meeting on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Wreake Valley Community College. Please follow the link to find out more.
